Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Cafeteria Worker to assist in daily lunchroom operations, including preparing food, serving students and staff, and keeping areas clean.

This role requires following recipes, maintaining safety standards, and working well with others in a school kitchen. Physical duties include standing and lifting; a high school diploma and background checks are often required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• BCI/FBI background check satisfactory.
• Less than one year related experience.
• ServSafe Manager Certification (for full-time staff).
• Food Handler Certification (for part-time staff).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of students and protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Adhere to rigid sanitary standards in work and attire.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and maintaining inventories for foods and supplies.
• Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen equipment.
• Assist cafeteria manager with meal preparation.
• Inform cafeteria manager of needed food, supplies, or repairs.
• Prepare and serve food using standardized recipes and methods.
• Serve students and staff with proper portion control.
• Maintain proper storage methods for leftovers and equipment.
