Job summary

Uplift Education in Dallas is seeking a Cafeteria Worker for Uplift Luna Preparatory 26-27 SY to assist in meal preparation and service. You will help maintain quality, sanitation, and safety standards while supporting customers with friendly service.

Your duties include cooking and preparing meals, serving on schedule, ensuring portion control, keeping the kitchen clean, and following USDA/TDA guidelines. Prior food service experience and a Food Handler Permit are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in school food service preferred.
• Current Food Handler Permit or ability to obtain within 20 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist with general kitchen tasks.
• Cook and prepare meals according to the menu.
• Serve food according to meal schedules.
• Ensure portion control.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Follow Safety guidelines when operating equipment.
• Follow all industry standard guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
• Ensure counting and claiming process are followed according to USDA/TDA guidelines.
• If assigned, carry out other specific kitchen roles (e.g. dishwasher, cashier, push meals to other areas of school etc.).
• Provide good customer service to maintain good customer relationships.
• Process cash handlings accurate and in timely fashion.
