Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Must lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Maintain confidentiality on sensitive issues.
• Apply common sense to solve problems as needed.
• Stay calm in stressful situations and maintain a neat appearance.
• Able to operate a computer and perform basic math.
• Stand and move in a busy school kitchen environment.
• Meet sanitation requirements and complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily menu items in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
• Produce appealing and nutritious foods following recipes and standards.
• Accurately serve correct portions and maintain production records.
• Identify and ensure reimbursable meals meet requirements.
• Record lunch transactions and balance the cash drawer when cashing.
• Promote school breakfast and lunch programs and maintain HACCP records.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and work area; assist with inventory.
