Job summary

Morgan County Schools is seeking a Substitute Cook in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. The position supports daily meal service in the school cafeteria, following state guidelines and district policies.

Immediate starting date with a 200-day minimum employment term and pay grade alignment. The role reports to the cafeteria management team, requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and includes responsibilities such as food prep, equipment operation, cleanliness, and collaboration with staff

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent per WV Code §18A-2-5.
• State-approved competency test per WV Code §18A-4-8b.
• Criminal background check required per WV Code §18-5-15c or §18A-3-10.

Responsibilities

• Operates commercial food service equipment as assigned.
• Prepares a variety of menu items for daily service.
• Maintains temperature readings and food safety procedures.
• Reads and interprets recipes and directions clearly.
• Maintains cleanliness in kitchen, serving, storage and dining areas.
• Attends in-services and workshops as directed.
