Job summary

Horry County Schools seeks a Cafeteria Operator to prepare and serve nutritious meals at Socastee Middle. This 6-hour/day, 185-day position reports to the Cafeteria Manager and emphasizes safe food handling and customer service.

You’ll follow recipes, maintain cleanliness, attend sanitation training, and support daily kitchen operations, including cashiering and inventory tasks. The role requires a high school diploma and prior school-food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous school food service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned breakfast and lunch meals.
• Follow recipes to ensure quality, portion and nutrition.
• Serve attractive, well-presented menu items in a friendly manner.
• Follow sanitation and food safety practices per program.
• Attend sanitation and refresher courses as required.
• Assist with cashiering, stocking, and basic kitchen duties as needed.
• Maintain daily records and assist with inventory control.
