Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Cafeteria Operator for the 2026-2027 School Year at Darlington County Schools.

The role involves preparing standardized recipes, serving meals to students, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas. A valid driver’s license is required, and SLED/criminal background review is required. This is an at-will, non-exempt position with a base hourly rate of $14.53.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or high school equivalent required.
• A minimum of one (1) year food service experience or equivalent.
• Driver's License required.
• Supervisory references preferred.
• Positive employment history preferred.
• SLED/criminal background review required.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of food service activities including preparing standardized recipes and serving food for students.
• Clean kitchen, kitchen equipment, serving area, and cafeteria seating area.
• Interact in a postive manner with students, facility/staff, others working in kitchen and the general public.
• Operate institutional food services equipment.
• Perform other related duties as required.
