Job summary

Louisburg Elementary is seeking a Child Nutrition Assistant to support kitchen operations, meal preparation, serving, and record-keeping under the School Nutrition Manager. This position is a dual employment role and requires the employee to be a bus driver, with licensure to drive a school bus. Immediate start, full-time, on-site in Louisburg, NC.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1–2 years' experience in institutional food preparation preferred.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and procedures.
• Willingness to assist in multiple roles within the cafeteria (cashier, server, helper).

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks, and serves meals according to standardized recipes.
• Maintains food temperature checks and sanitation standards.
• Orders and inventories food items and supplies.
• Records daily financial, production, and activity data for meals.
• Assists in training kitchen staff and managing records for NSLP compliance.
• Acts as cashier or backup during serving periods and processes payments.
