Job summary

Caldwell County Schools’ Child Nutrition Department seeks a dedicated Full-Time Child Nutrition Assistant at Gamewell Elementary. You will support the manager in kitchen operations, food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining accurate records in line with NSLP requirements.

You will perform cashiering tasks, assist with deposits, and help ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance in a busy school cafeteria.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 1–2 years of experience in food preparation in an institutional setting or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks, and serves meals according to standardized recipes.
• Replenishes warming cabinets and serving lines to maintain proper food temperatures.
• Ensure HACCP and health department standards are followed in all kitchen processes.
• Order and manage food items to meet portions and production needs; assist in inventory management.
• Assist in cashiering and maintaining financial integrity of meals and related records.
• Assist with deposit preparation and reporting for student meal charges.
