Job summary

Vernon Public Schools is hiring a Cafeteria Manager for the Northeast School. The role requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years in food service, and preferred management experience. ServSafe certification is required before starting.

Salary is $24.05/hour with a 7 AM–2 PM, Monday–Friday schedule. Benefits are included with this position. The incumbent will supervise two kitchen staff, prepare meals, and ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards, while maintaining inventory

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• At least 2 years of food service experience.
• Management experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification required prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Manage 2 other kitchen employees.
• Prepare and serve quality food to students.
• Maintain documentation for local/state health boards.
• Inventory food, materials, and equipment.
• Adhere to sanitary standards and standard recipes.
• Assign kitchen duties and supervise staff.
• Handle cash register and meal counts.
• Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen equipment.
