Job summary

Vernon Public Schools is seeking a Cafeteria Manager for the Northeast School to oversee daily operations in the school kitchen and lead two kitchen staff to deliver safe, quality meals for students.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, has at least two years of food service experience (management preferred), and will obtain ServSafe certification prior to starting. Salary is $24.05/hour with Monday–Friday, 7 AM–2 PM shifts. Benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Manage 2 other kitchen employees.
• Prepare and serve quality food to students.
• Maintain proper documentation for local and state Boards of Health.
• Maintain proper documentation of all food, material, and equipment inventory.
• Adhere to all sanitary standards in both work and attire.
• Adhere to school district menu as set by Food & Nutrition Director.
• Order all food, supplies, and materials needed for the program.
• Adhere to all standardize recipes.
• Assign kitchen personnel to various duties and move as needed.
• Run cash register, close cash drawer, provide total cash and meal count as required.
• Assist in daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment.

The Administration is seeking a person qualified by education and experience to carry out the duties assigned to the position and in general, to establish and maintain a high level of standards of excellence in the Vernon Public Schools.

Requirements: High school diploma, and at least 2 years Food Service experience required. Management experience preferred. ServSafe Certification required prior to starting.

Hours: 7AM - 2PM Monday - Friday

Start date: As soon as possible
