Job summary

The Catholic-Diocese-of-Baton-Roug seeks a Cafeteria Manager to lead school-based food service operations. You will supervise 3-15 staff, oversee payroll-related tasks, and coordinate daily meals, inventories, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include training, evaluations, scheduling, and ensuring adherence to federal and state nutrition policies, while maintaining positive relations with students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Complete LA Dept. of Education Professional Standards Training yearly.
• Successful completion of cafeteria manager training within 1 year of hire.
• Five years of cafeteria experience preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages 3-15 cafeteria employees and volunteers.
• Approve time records and leave requests in payroll software.
• Provide orientation, on-the-job training and ongoing feedback.
• Develop and post schedules; plan menus, production, and inventory.
• Conduct annual and new-hire evaluations (30/60/90 days).
• Enforce safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate food prep, inventory, and procurement activities.
• Communicate with students, staff, and parents about meals and balances.
• Open/close cafeteria and manage daily meal service in POS system.
