Job summary

Hazleton Area School District's Heights Terrace Elementary/Middle School seeks a Cafeteria Manager to run the school kitchen. The role covers supervision of kitchen staff, ensuring HACCP-compliant food preparation, inventory control, payroll and records, and coordination with the Food Service Director and Building Principal.

The position is part-time (8 hours/day) with responsibilities for training staff and maintaining a clean, safe dining operation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Food Service Experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, USDA and PDE Regulations.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet navigation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise cafeteria staff; ensure safe, sanitary kitchen operations.
• Manage production, service and cleanup of meals per HACCP guidelines.
• Maintain inventory, payroll, banking, and records; manage delivery/stock rotation (FIFO).
• Train employees in all aspects of cafeteria operations; schedule staff and arrange substitutes.
• Address parent concerns professionally and interact with students and staff.
