Chartwells K-12 in Fairland, IN is seeking a full-time Food Unit Lead at Triton Central Schools. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Pay range: $19.00–$20.00 per hour. Online applications only.

The role coordinates the activities of other food-service employees, ensuring quality service, sanitation, and accurate reporting while assisting with menu planning and daily operations.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen management experience is required.
• K-12 kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the activities of other food‑service employees and creates an enjoyable dining experience for customers, staff, and visitors.
• Provides quality customer service with one‑on‑one attention to detail.
• Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items.
• Helps plan menus.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service; supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email.
• Trains employees; assigns and coordinates work to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules, expedites workflow.
• Uses daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory‑cash reports, production records, payroll and time‑keeping.
• Responsible for proper cash handling as per the Food Accounting Manual.
• Orders food and other supplies from approved sources.
• Directs sanitation and safety of the facility and employees.
• Develops sanitation schedule and enforces cleaning protocols.
• Issues instructions, orients employees, oversees staff training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
