Job summary

Haskell CISD is seeking a dedicated JH/HS School Cafeteria Food Service Assistant to support healthy, appealing meals for students in a fast-paced environment. You will assist in food preparation, maintain a clean kitchen, and help serve meals while following local, state, and federal food-safety guidelines.

This role requires basic math, strong communication with staff and students, the ability to stand for long periods, and a willingness to complete the summer workshop for professional

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.
• Must obtain a Food Handler's permit/certification.
• Basic math skills for operating registers and measuring ingredients.
• Strong communication and a friendly attitude toward students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking of school breakfast and lunch.
• Set up food lines and serve meals to students with proper portion control.
• Wash dishes and sanitize surfaces; sweep and mop floors at shift end.
• Receive, unpack, and store food deliveries.
