Job summary

Quitman County Board of Education is seeking a Substitute Food Assistant to help prepare and serve nutritious meals in district schools. You will follow USDA and GaDOE School Nutrition guidelines and maintain sanitation across prep and serving areas, supporting staff and students as needed.

The role may require coverage at various locations within the district and adherence to health regulations. Prior food service exposure is preferred but not required, with training provided as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of nutritious meals to students and staff.
• Follow USDA, GaDOE School Nutrition Program guidelines, and health regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in cafeterias and prep areas.
• Clean and sanitize food service equipment and utensils after use.
• Assist with receiving, storing, preparing, and serving food as directed.
• Follow daily menus, standard recipes, and portion requirements.
