Job summary

The Quitman County Board of Education is seeking a Substitute Food Assistant to support nutritious meals for students and staff in line with USDA, GaDOE, and health regulations. Coverage across district locations may be required to meet staffing needs.

This role focuses on food safety, timely service, teamwork, and professional conduct with students and colleagues. Training and compliance with program standards are required; candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and follow

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking according to approved menus, recipes, USDA requirements, and GaDOE guidelines.
• Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures during food preparation, service, storage, and cleanup.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Assist with receiving, storing, preparing, and serving food as directed by the School Nutrition Director.
• Follow daily menus and meal service procedures.
