Job summary

Midland Independent School District is seeking a Food Service Worker II to support the Child Nutrition Services department in Midland, Texas. The position is non-exempt and covers 181 working days, with a pay grade Aux PG-2.

The role reports to the Food Service Manager and requires coordination with other staff in the school kitchen. Starting date is immediate, with duties including food preparation, serving, records, and possible cashier responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, understand and speak English.
• Ability to count and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record; must adhere to Midland ISD’s vehicle safety and use program.
• Current Food Handler’s Card.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fruits, vegetables, salads and/or beverages as assigned by Food Service Manager/Managing Cashier.
• Assist other Food Service Workers to prepare foods for the cafeteria by performing tasks such as preparation of meats, breads, and other foods.
• Serve correct portions on serving line or replenish the line.
• Complete production records, inventories and other documentation as assigned.
• Clean own working area and other areas as assigned.
• Assist in the orientation, training and supervision of Food Service Workers I’s as assigned.
• Perform cashier duties accurately.
• Act as a manager in the manager’s absence when required.
