Job summary

Washington County Public Schools is hiring a Food Service Assistant at Maugansville Elementary School for a 3-hour shift (10:45 am to 1:45 pm) during a 10-month work year. Assist with food preparation, serving students and maintaining kitchen safety, with duties reported to the Assistant Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services.

A cooperative team player with reliable attendance is required; Serv-Safe certification is preferred or obtainable within one year.

Qualifications

• Ability to work cooperatively with others, accept direction, assume leadership responsibility and complete tasks as assigned.
• Willingness to be assigned at any site within the base operation.
• Regular and predictable attendance which is an essential function of this position.
• Ability to meet physical requirements: prolonged standing; ability to move, lift, carry, pull, or push as needed; tolerate noisy environment and temperature variations; load and transport meals.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or assist in preparing food as assigned.
• Complete clean-up and dishwashing duties as assigned.
• Report food supply needs and problems to the Site Supervisor.
• Serve food to students and adults using portion control standards.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with any phase of kitchen operations.
• Attend mandatory training and comply with program standards.
• Demonstrate courteous and professional demeanor to stakeholders.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
