Job summary

The Food Service Assistant at Monarch K-8 in Louisville (BVSD) supports daily school meal operations by preparing and serving meals per menus and SOPs, assisting with reheating, salad bar setup, service line presentation, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

Under supervision of the Kitchen Satellite Lead, you’ll handle supplies, proper food rotation, temperature logs, production records, inventory, and cashiering tasks, while following allergen procedures and contributing to a respectful,

Qualifications

• Must pass English component of interview process.
• Must pass post offer physical.
• Must pass FS Online Training Assessment by completion of probation.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a frequent basis.

Responsibilities

• Participate in proper reheating and serving of meals according to SOPs.
• Communicate BVSD Wellness Policy and program goals daily.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and storage areas.
• Assist in meal service periods as server or cashier as needed.
• Ensure smooth flow of service and positive dining experience for students and staff.
• Record production and meal count data for NSLP compliance.
• Assist with allergen reporting and preparation for allergy students.
• Support accurate reporting of sales transactions and deposits.
• Record temperature logs for equipment and production.
