Job summary

Pineville Middle School is seeking a Cook for a 6am–2pm shift as a temporary position until the regular employee returns. The role is based at Pineville, WV and supports food service operations under the Wyoming County Board of Education.

The cook will prepare meals per state/federal guidelines, manage kitchen tasks, and assist with inventory while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This is a 200-day employment term with seniority-based selection procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid Wyoming County Foodhandlers Permit.
• Proficient in cooking and food preparation with background in institutional or commercial cooking.
• Able to read recipes and calculate ingredient measurements.
• Functional working skill in operation of school kitchen equipment.
• Must pass WVDE cook competency test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all types of food according to State and Federal guidelines.
• Wash dishes, sweep and mop kitchen area, as needed.
• Clean all equipment used.
• Serve food to students and staff.
• Aid in inventory of food and supplies and restock storage areas as food and supplies are received.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
