Job summary

A local school district is seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant to support the cafeteria team in providing meals for students. Responsibilities include supporting quantity food production and assisting the Cook II. Previous school cafeteria experience is preferred, along with a high school diploma or GED. This role offers an hourly pay range and requires physical stamina for lifting and movement.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be willing to obtain a current Food Handler’s Permit.
• Previous experience in a school cafeteria preferred.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing breakfast, lunch, and snacks to students.
• Focus on quantity food production of menu items.
• May assist the Cook II.

Position Summary: This position will assist the school cafeteria team in the processes necessary to provide breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks to TPS students; focusing primarily in the quantity food production of menu items and may assist the Cook II.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent food handlers experience in lieu of education
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a current Food Handler’s Permit issued via the
Tulsa City/County Health Department
Experience:
• Basic knowledge of quantity food preparation and customer service skills

• Previous experience in a school cafeteria preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Be able to lift, pull, or push up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50
pounds
• Be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
