Job summary

Brush Creek Elementary School is hiring a Cook to prepare and serve meals for students, following state and federal standards. You will maintain a clean kitchen, control portion sizes, and operate the POS system when needed.

The role requires 6 months of large-quantity food experience and strong communication skills; bilingual ability is not required. Salary is hourly with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow written and verbal calculations.
• Ability to operate a computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in appropriate quantities according to the school lunch menu.
• Maintain high sanitation standards in all practices at work.
• Regulate portions according to National School Lunch Program standards.
• Operate the point-of-sale system in the absence of the cafeteria manager.
• Assist with data collection for NSLP and related reports.
• Meet demands with a flexible schedule and location.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
