Job summary

Chartwells K12 in East Lansing, MI is hiring immediately for a full-time Cook to support the school dining program at East Lansing Public Schools. Join a team dedicated to serving meals that kids love while following safety and quality standards.

Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. You will prepare high-quality items from standardized recipes, portion meals correctly, maintain clean, safe kitchen areas, and participate in on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serves meals or prepares for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty.
• Maintains cleanliness, stores or discards excess food properly, and adheres to safe food-handling procedures.
• Assists in ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
