Job summary

Owensboro High School, part of Owensboro Public Schools, is seeking a Cook/Baker to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the school cafeteria.

The role requires preparing a variety of foods, baking goods, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Will travel between OPS cafeterias as needed and work hours may include early mornings. Immediate start date with 182-day schedule and pay rate $14.14–$17.16 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; progress toward GED allowed by Kentucky law.
• One year cooking/baking in large quantities preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Positive attitude toward students, staff, and school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, bake and serve foods in quantity at an assigned school cafeteria.
• Prepare and bake rolls, biscuits, breads, cakes, cookies and other baked goods.
• Monitor temperatures and ensure safety/quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria equipment and facilities.
• Train and provide work direction to others as directed by manager/ASM.
