Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District is seeking a part-time Child Nutrition Assistant to support food preparation, serving, cashiering and clean-up in the district's kitchens. The role runs 20 hours per week, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 180-day/9-month term.

The position requires a current Food Handler's Certificate and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Competitive pay per the QCUSD salary schedule and benefits per district policy; reports to the Child Nutrition

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Food Handler's Certificate.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in food preparation is desirable.
• Experience handling money is desirable.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment and a cash register.
• Knowledge of HACCP and workplace safety requirements.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with students and staff.
• Assist in food preparation and serving.
• Perform cashiering duties and maintain records.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas and equipment.
• Assist with stocking supplies and inventory reporting.
• Follow food safety guidelines at all times.
