Qualifications

  • Knowledge of HACCP and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food, cashier, and reconcile cash drawers.
  • Serve and maintain sanitary kitchen conditions daily.
  • Monitor lunch/breakfast sales for compliance with guidelines and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate change funds and update computer records.
  • Assist with training new employees and student workers on cashiering.
  • Precisely measure and portion ingredients per recipes.
  • Stock and replenish supplies; assist with daily cleaning of kitchen equipment.
  • May perform manager duties in the absence of a manager.

JOB GOAL:

The Child Nutrition Assistant Senior is responsible for food preparation, cooking, cashiering, and reconciliation of cash drawers and assists in other areas such as serving and clean-up as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Food Handler's Certificate
  • Previous experience handling money desired
  • Ability to read and execute written recipes and cook food in large quantities
  • Ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to operate a computerized cash register
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of HACCP and workplace safety requirements
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work with figures and to make arithmetic calculations
  • Ability to communicate with parents, staff, and students on the Child Nutrition program
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
  • Must pass a background clearance.
  • Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 189Days; 10 Months

COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position

REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Cafeteria Manager

HOURS: 30 hours, Monday - Friday 7:00 am -1:30 pm

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and the community.
  • Maintain appropriate change funds for registers.
  • Perform cashiering and end-of-day procedures.
  • Monitor lunch/breakfast sales to ensure guidelines/federal regulations are met.
  • Ensure product quality by visual inspection to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in keeping student status in the computer system accurate.
  • Assist in training new employees and student workers on cashiering procedures and guidelines.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Assists with the daily cleaning of all kitchen and equipment to ensure cleanliness and to ensure sanitary conditions are met.
  • Precisely measure and portion ingredients according to recipes.
  • Prepare and cook various items using different methods.
  • Assist in food preparation and clean up.
  • Assist with stocking and replenishing of supplies.
  • May be assigned manager duties when a manager is absent.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned to advance district priorities.
