Job summary

Sidney City School District is seeking an Assistant Cook at Northwood Intermediate. The role runs from 10:15 am to 1:30 pm, assisting the Head Cook and cafeteria manager in preparing and serving meals while upholding safety and sanitary standards.

You will follow recipes, monitor portions, and promote a positive impression of the school district. Prior food service experience and health compliance are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Post-secondary culinary program preferred.
• Meets health requirements (TB test).
• Clear criminal record document.
• School food service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of local, state, and Federal nutrition laws and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves meals and maintains sanitary kitchen.
• Follows standardized recipes and production sheets to control costs.
• Maintains positive interaction with students, staff and public.
• Addresses issues with head cook and reports concerns promptly.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and areas and stores supplies properly.
