Job summary

The Bishop's School in La Jolla, San Diego, is seeking School Bus and Van Drivers with immediate start. The role focuses on safe, reliable transportation for students to and from school, athletic events, field trips and activities, with flexible hours including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends.

Reporting to the Director of Transportation, you will perform pre-trip inspections, maintain daily manifests, and adhere to all traffic laws and school policies while ensuring student safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• California Driver's License required.
• Valid California Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with School Bus Certificate and Passenger Endorsement required.
• Valid T-01 School Bus Driver Certificate required.
• Minimum of one year of school bus driving experience strongly preferred.
• Two years of experience working with children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school, athletic events, field trips, and other school-sponsored activities.
• Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws, California Highway Patrol regulations, and School transportation policies.
• Ensure the safety of students during loading, transportation, and unloading.
• Maintain daily passenger manifest logs and complete transportation reports on time.
• Attend required safety meetings and certification renewal courses.
