Job summary

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace in San Diego, CA is seeking a part-time Student Transportation Driver to operate school vans for morning and afternoon routes on a 20-hour weekly schedule during the school year. Qualifications

• Hold and maintain a Valid California Driver's License, with no serious violations.
• Minimum of five years previous safe driving experience.
• Excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
• Exhibits positive interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Drive school vans and transport students between pickup points and the school or to events and destinations.
• Be in full charge of the van at all times and report unmanageable students.
• Check and clean van at end of shift; check gas, battery, oil, and water before departure.
• Assist disabled students and others in and out of vehicles.
• Prepare simple reports and keep logs of trips.
• Notify Directors of any mechanical malfunctions and/or safety hazards.
• Adhere to routes, stops, and time schedules; transport and account for authorized students only.
