Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus on designated routes per schedules and laws.
• Transports students to and from school, events, and field trips.
• Loads and unloads students at bus stops in varying weather conditions.
• Reports incidents affecting student safety.
• Maintains bus in safe operating condition via inspections and routine maintenance.
• Checks fuel, oil, water levels, brakes, brake lights, and doors; reports defects.
• Maintains order and discipline onboard per district policies.
• Interacts with parents regarding questions or disputes.
• Performs emergency bus evacuation drills as required.
• Assists in loading and securing handicapped students.
• Keeps records of maintenance, miles driven, and students transported.
• Prepares student conduct, incident, and accident reports.
