Job summary

Oglethorpe County Schools seeks a Substitute School Bus Monitor to assist the driver in safe, orderly student transportation. You will help students enter and exit the bus, monitor behavior, and promote a safe transport environment.

Responsibilities include following district procedures, completing reports, and attending trainings. This role requires high school completion and prior experience with children or youth preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience working with children or youth preferred.
• Experience in school transportation or childcare desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring the safety and welfare of students during transportation.
• Help students board and exit the school bus.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain order while the bus is in operation.
• Assist students with special needs as required by IEPs or district procedures.
• Complete required documentation and incident reports accurately and promptly.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.
