Job summary

Hopkins County School District Transportation Central Office is seeking a Substitute Bus Monitor to assist the bus driver with maintaining order during transport and to support student loading and seating according to state guidelines. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and the ability to maintain accurate records and communicate with school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or demonstrated progress toward GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Ability to maintain proper records and documentation.
• Ability to assist with loading/unloading and seating arrangements for students.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver in maintaining discipline on the bus and monitor students during operation.
• Document student information, records, and route surveys.
• Ensure seat belts, harnesses, and wheelchair clamps are secured as required.
• Assist with safe loading/unloading of students and seating for Pre-K students per state guidelines.
• Communicate with teachers, aides, principals, and parents regarding student needs and behavior.
• Know and follow Emergency Evacuation procedures.
