Job summary

Oglethorpe County Transportation is seeking a Substitute School Bus Driver to ensure the safe transport of students, staff, and others on designated routes and field trips.

Responsibilities include daily bus inspections, maintaining order, documenting reports, and completing required trainings. CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement is required; DMV license is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must hold Motor Vehicle Operator's (DMV) License.
• Must hold CDL, class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes and field trips.
• Inspects bus daily pre/post transportation.
• Cleans bus as needed and reports deficiencies or incidents.
• Maintains student order and discipline per district policy.
• Tracks route timings and submits required records.
• Ensures no child is left unattended and all windows/doors are secure.
• Evacuates passengers in emergencies following procedures.
• Attends trainings and professional development opportunities.
