Vicksburg-Warren School District Transportation in Vicksburg, MS is seeking a School Bus Monitor to help ensure student safety and orderly conduct on every route. You will support the Transportation Supervisor and assist with loading, unloading, and daily incidents as they arise.

Ideal candidates are 18+ years old, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and can pass a police background check. This role emphasizes safety, courtesy, and reliable teamwork within a busy transportation environment.

Qualifications

• Mature with interest in children and education.
• Able to read and write.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass police background records check.
• At least eighteen (18) years old.

Responsabilités

• Observe mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Assist the driver in maintaining student conduct on the bus.
• Help care for students needing special attention.
• Assist young or disabled students in getting on and off the bus.
• Ensure students board and exit the bus in an orderly fashion.
• Provide written conduct records to the school Principal.
• Collect items left on the bus and turn over to the secretary or transportation.
• Complete required forms and reports for the Transportation Office.
• Attend meetings, conferences, and workshops.
• Maintain patience and courtesy with staff, parents, and students.
• Complete interior bus inspections after each route.
• Enforce no tobacco or food on the bus and handle stressful situations professionally.
• Wear appropriate attire and adhere to dress code.
• Possess good judgment and common sense.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
