Job summary

Durham School Services is hiring a Bus Assistant to support safe student transportation, assist with entering/exiting the bus, and help the driver maintain order and cleanliness. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and reliable attendance in a part-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to meet physical requirements.
• Ability to relate to and work well with children and supervise students.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus in a safe manner.
• Seat students safely and monitor conduct to ensure safety rules are followed.
• Maintain interior cleanliness and report any concerns in a timely manner.
• Complete required paperwork and attend safety meetings and trainings.
• Assist the driver as needed and present a neat, professional appearance.
