Job summary

Richland-Bean Blossom Community School Corporation in Indiana is seeking a Transportation Aide to support safe student transport and rider supervision.

You will assist in loading and unloading, help secure wheelchairs, monitor riders, and assist at bus stops and during travel, following district procedures.

A high school diploma or GED is required; you should be willing to obtain a CDL with endorsements and participate in safety and first aid training.

Qualifications

• Be willing to work toward obtaining a CDL with appropriate endorsements for transporting students.
• Must be able to work with students and drivers in a safe, professional manner.
• Ability to read and follow district policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions from the school bus driver pertaining to daily procedures and help as needed.
• Assists in loading and unloading passengers, including wheelchairs and boosters.
• Secures wheelchairs and checks straps and trays for safety.
• Check on riders and monitor them during transport.
• Assist in supervision at bus stops and during travel to and from school.
• Help with fueling and routine bus maintenance like checking fluids.
• Keep the bus clean and attend to spills or body fluids as necessary.
• Participate in in-service programs related to safety and district policies.
• Assist driver in backing the bus or turning the bus around as needed.
• Performs duties as assigned by the Superintendent and maintains professional appearance.
