Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and consistent under pressure.
• Successfully pass the Physical Performance Test.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
• Commitment to student safety and positive behavior support.
• Provide a negative TB test.
• Proof of American Citizenship or Employment Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student behavior while boarding, riding, and exiting the school bus.
• Reinforce established safety protocols and behavior expectations consistently.
• De-escalate conflicts and intervene in disruptive behavior as needed.
• Promote and model respectful, positive behavior among students.
• Collaborate with the bus driver to maintain a calm, focused environment.
• Document student behavior daily using data collection forms.
• Report ongoing issues or concerns to the Transportation Department.
• Assist in emergency situations, if necessary.
• Must be familiar with school bus braking procedures in case of an emergency.
