Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong telephone and communication skills.

• Able to pass DOT drug tests and annual physical.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers and vehicles daily.
• Monitor two-way radio communications.
• Answer phones and forward concerns to staff.
• Record driver and substitute absences in dispatch log.
• Maintain good public relations with parents and staff.
• Assign drivers, routes, vehicles, and substitutes.
• Coordinate with Field Trip Clerk for coverage.
• Prepare route data and post schedules.
• Schedule all general and special education routes.
• Use routing software to assign students and print maps.
• Use fleet tracking software to monitor buses.
• Notify changes to drivers, parents and campuses.
• Maintain records and reports as required.
• Observe safety rules and attend regularly.
• Serve as substitute bus driver.
