Job summary

Dean Transportation seeks School Bus Drivers to safely transport students to and from Lake Fenton Community Schools in Lake Fenton, MI. The role includes training for CDL, no prior CDL needed, and focus on student safety.

You'll perform pre/post-trip inspections, follow established routes, and participate in safety drills, while benefiting from employer-provided training and benefit options.

Qualifications

• Must meet general employment qualifications.
• Meet company and state standards for driving record checks.
• Meet company, state, and school district standards for criminal history checks.
• Meet Federal DOT guidelines and physical examination requirements.
• Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by Dean Transportation.
• Complete Dean Transportation School Bus Driver Training Program (classroom, behind the wheel, tests).
• Meet Michigan School Bus Driver Certification Requirements (instruction hours, knowledge exam).
• Meet local/state standards for driving skills test.
• Obtain appropriate commercial vehicle licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Use established routes and designated bus stops.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.
• Instruct passenger riders regarding safety.
• Drive defensively under varying traffic conditions and weather.
• Prioritize passenger safety in all operations.
• Establish cooperation with drivers, office staff, maintenance, and school personnel.
• Attend training sessions and workshops for performance improvement.
