Job summary

Dean Transportation seeks a School Bus Driver to safely transport students for Kent City Community Schools in Kent City, MI. The role offers flexible scheduling and paid training that includes preparation for obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). No prior CDL experience is required.

Qualifications

• Meet all general qualifications for employment.
• Meet company and state standards for driving record check.
• Meet company, state, and school district standards for criminal history check.
• Meet Federal DOT guidelines and physical examination requirements.
• Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by company.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and assist students and other passengers to and from school, educational or sporting events, community-based programs and other activities.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your assigned vehicle.
• Use established routes and designated bus stops.
• Instruct passenger riders regarding safety.
• Drive defensively and prioritize passenger safety.
• Establish positive working relationships with staff, students, parents and school personnel.
• Attend training sessions and workshops conducted by Dean Transportation.
