Job summary

Kanawha County Public Schools is seeking a Bus Operator to transport students safely to and from school. The role includes pre/post trip inspections, route familiarization, and maintaining orderly bus operations.

Applicants must have a valid WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, a good driving record, and CPR/First Aid certification. The position may require a split shift in a safety-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have a valid WV CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
• Good driving record required and driving experience preferred.
• Must have valid First Aid and CPR certificates.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre/post trip inspections.
• Learns route, including pick up and drop off locations.
• Safely operates bus and ensures student safety during transport.
• Assists and supervises students with disabilities when needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and reports incidents or issues to supervisor.
• Completes required paperwork and maintains records.
