Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• State of Michigan Mechanic Certification must be obtained (training provided).
• CDL B with PS endorsement must be obtained and maintained (training provided).
• Must obtain MI mechanic certification for heavy trucks and buses within 1 year.
• Two years of hands-on experience as auto/bus/truck mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly vehicle inspections.
• Make service calls to VBISD buses.
• Attend workshops, schools and meetings as directed by the Supervisor.
• Maintain accurate vehicle information records and time accounts of work performed.
• Complete all required paperwork daily.
• Cooperate with other staff and administrators.
• Use protective equipment as required and provided by the District.
• Follow all safety rules and machinery safety guards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Regular and reliable, in person attendance.
