Job summary

ServingSchools is seeking a School Bus Mechanic in Brunswick, ME to maintain and service school department vehicles to ensure safe transportation for students. The role requires inspecting, repairing, and road testing buses as directed by the Head Mechanic, with adherence to Maine transport standards.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and ideally experience as a mechanic, plus a Maine CDL with P and S endorsements and state inspection certification.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance.
• High School Diploma/equivalent preferred; experience as a mechanic.
• Maine Commercial Driver’s License with P and S endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and inspects school department vehicles, performs repairs and road tests as assigned.
• Checks safety items on buses brought in for service.
• Drives a school bus to transport students when assigned.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and stores tools properly.
• Reports defects and recommendations to Head Mechanic and supervisor.
• May service disabled buses in adverse conditions.
