Job summary

Licking Heights Local Schools is seeking a full-time Mechanic to maintain and repair the district's bus fleet, with an 8 hour/260 day schedule. The role requires a High School diploma or GED and valid state bus/mechanic certifications.

You will perform preventative maintenance and inspections, keeping accurate records and ensuring safe, reliable transportation for students. Reports to the Transportation Supervisor; expects adherence to district policies and continued professional development,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proven mechanical skills.
• Ohio bus mechanic license or certification preferred.
• State Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and basic computer knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and inspect buses and other district vehicles on a regularly scheduled program.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Keep accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Maintain an inventory of supplies and garage equipment.
• Drive bus routes and trips on a substitute basis when needed.
