Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is seeking a Vehicle Fleet Technician/Vehicle Mechanic in Christiansburg to support the Transportation Department. You will assist the shop foreman, service buses and vehicles, and help maintain safety standards to protect students and staff.

The role requires a Virginia CDL Class B with air brakes, a satisfactory DMV record, and an inspector license or eligibility.

Qualifications

Valid Virginia CDL, Class B with air brakes; S and P endorsements or ability to obtain them.
DMV driving record must be satisfactory.
Valid Virginia State Inspector license or eligibility upon hire.
ASE School Bus Technician certification preferred.

Responsabilités

Perform repairs to keep the fleet in good repair.
Respond to road calls and ensure safe, professional handling.
Maintain school buses to meet safety standards and regulations.
Ensure service on board vehicles and equipment to safety standards.
Document work performed and parts used on work orders.
Assist other technicians as needed.
Stay updated on new vehicle technology and parts.
Work a 40-hour week with possible after-hours emergencies; drive as substitute bus driver as needed.
