Job summary

Dean Transportation is seeking a School Bus Fleet Mechanic to support North Branch Area Schools. You will maintain and repair buses, trucks, vans, and related equipment to keep them safe and road-ready, ensuring reliable service for students.

The role involves diagnosing issues, performing preventive maintenance, and possibly installing radios and GPS systems, with a focus on safety and compliance. Physical work and state licensing readiness are required.

Qualifications

General qualifications for employment.
State and/or ASE requirements for appropriate mechanic licensing.
State and/or Federal physical examination requirements.
Drug and alcohol screening as established by Company, State and Federal requirements.
Criminal history check standards as applicable.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs per OEM recommendations and regulations; inspect and repair defects.
Respond to service calls and on-site breakdowns where possible.
Install accessories such as two-way radios, cameras and GPS systems.
Review technical bulletins and diagnostic links; use diagnostic software for diesel and gas engines.
Procure parts and manage inventory.
Communicate maintenance needs with drivers and operations staff.
Conduct safety inspections and assist with state police inspections.
Maintain cleanliness of the maintenance facility and perform other duties as assigned.
