Job summary

Summit School Services LLC is seeking a Fleet Technician I to support our school bus fleet. You will handle advanced diagnostics, inspections, and repairs across a range of systems to keep routes safe and on time.

Work with Lead Technician or Maintenance Supervisor to identify repairs. The role requires five years of fleet mechanic experience and proficiency with diagnostic equipment; CDL preferred. Summit provides training and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Five years of medium/heavy truck fleet repair experience.
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• CDL preferred; company offers free training for mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems including brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, electrical, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify quality repairs.
• Complete required safety inspections and repair sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Keep a safe, organized workspace following all applicable standards.
• Identify and report additional service needs or complex issues requiring advanced support.
• Log labor hours, parts used, and completed work in the maintenance system.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs when needed.
