Job summary

Summit School Services seeks a seasoned Fleet Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain a large school bus fleet. You will work on brakes, engines, electrical, HVAC, and other major systems, conducting inspections and sign-offs to keep routes safe and on time.

The role requires at least five years of medium/heavy truck repair experience, a valid license (CDL preferred), and the ability to log hours and parts. Summit offers training, a strong safety culture, and competitive pay with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent education and/or training and experience.
• ASE Certification desirable but not required.
• Valid state license (CDL preferred) with company training available.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems — brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, electrical, cooling, and fuel.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify quality repairs.
• Complete safety inspections and sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Log labor hours, parts used, and repairs in the maintenance system.
• Respond to road calls and mobile repair requests as needed.
