Job summary

Summit School District Region 1 Transportation in Frisco, Colorado is seeking a Fleet Mechanic I to diagnose and repair school vehicles and equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and manage parts ordering and vendor communications. You will help develop maintenance programs, assist in training drivers, and participate in safety inspections.

The role requires ASE coursework knowledge, a CDL within 90 days, and CDE inspector certification within a year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus ASE courses in heavy duty brake systems, commercial vehicle air brake systems, suspension/steering, diesel engines, preventive maintenance inspections and gasoline engines.
• Commercial Driver License – must obtain within 90 days, on-the-job training provided through the district
• annual CDE inspector certification must be obtained within 1 year (free) 1 year mechanical experience on diesel

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair school vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Locate, order, purchase and pick-up parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized shop.
• Drive school bus routes as needed.
