Job summary

Kyrene School District in Tempe, AZ seeks a skilled Mechanic to service and repair gas and diesel engines on vehicles over 10,000 lbs. G.V.W., with potential bus driving duties as assigned.

Requires a CDL with P&S, a School Bus Driver's Certificate, and an AZ fingerprint clearance card along with EPA Freon license, CPR/First Aid, and related automotive training. 40 hours weekly, 260 school days per year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and vocational automotive training, plus two years experience repairing gas and diesel engines for vehicles both under and over 10,000 lbs. G.V.W.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on buses and District vehicles.
• Conduct vehicle emissions tests.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, braking, and air conditioning systems in large vehicles (over 10,000 lbs. G.V.W.).
• Complete related documentation.
